About Outpost Group of Companies

Outpost Hostels is not just a place to sleep; we are a community, a vibe, and a premier experience for experiential travelers. As we rapidly expand our footprint, we are transitioning from a vibrant hospitality brand into a structured, multi-entity organization: the **Outpost Group of Companies**.

To support this exciting growth, we are shifting from outsourced bookkeeping to building a powerhouse, in-house finance department. That is where you come in.

The Role: Jumpstart Our Financial Future

We are seeking a highly motivated, entrepreneurial Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to step up and build our accounting department from the ground up. You won’t just be managing spreadsheets; you will be the chief architect of our internal financial infrastructure.

As our founding CPA, you will inherit our current financial records, clean up historical data, design and implement scalable accounting systems, and standardize compliance across our various entities. This is a rare opportunity to own the financial blueprint of a growing hospitality group and eventually recruit and lead the finance team you help build.

Key Responsibilities1. Department Architecture & Setup - System Migration & Implementation: Evaluate, select, and implement robust cloud-based accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks Online) integrated with our Property Management Systems (PMS) and POS. - Process Engineering: Design, document, and enforce strict internal financial controls, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and approval workflows for cash handling, purchasing, and expense reporting across all locations. - Chart of Accounts: Create and maintain a unified Chart of Accounts tailored for a multi-entity, high-growth hospitality group.

2. Core Accounting & Financial Management - Full-Cycle Accounting: Personally manage and execute all day-to-day accounting operations including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), payroll processing, and general ledger maintenance during the initial phase. - Intercompany Reconciliation: Handle complex reconciliations across multiple corporate entities, branches, and currencies. - Month-End/Year-End Close: Establish a strict and efficient closing timeline, delivering accurate and timely balance sheets, P&L statements, and cash flow reports to the executive team.

3. Tax, Compliance & Audit - Statutory Compliance: Take full ownership of all local tax regulations, business permits, and statutory filings for all business units, ensuring 100% compliance. - Corporate Restructuring Support: Work closely with management to align financial reporting with the new corporate structure of the Outpost Group of Companies. - Audit Readiness: Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors and tax consultants, ensuring all books are pristine, fully compliant, and audit-ready.

Requirements & Qualifications - Credentials: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is strictly required. - Experience: Minimum of 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience. Prior experience setting up an accounting department from scratch or transitioning a company from outsourced to in-house accounting is highly preferred. - Industry Background: Experience in hospitality, hostels, hotels, restaurants, or retail is a massive plus. You should understand inventory management, high-volume cash/card reconciliations, and hospitality tech stacks. - Mindset: A builder’s mentality. You love creating order out of chaos and don't mind rolling up your sleeves to handle data entry in the beginning while simultaneously designing the high-level system. - Communication: Exceptional communication skills. You can translate complex tax laws and financial data into clear, actionable insights for creative operations managers and founders.

What We Offer - The unique opportunity to fully own, build, and scale an accounting department for a beloved, growing brand. - A vibrant, collaborative, and non-corporate company culture. - Competitive salary, performance incentives, and benefits package. - Significant career trajectory—as the department grows, you will naturally transition into a leadership/CFO track. - Discounts and perks across Outpost properties.
