Special Teacher

Company Description RISE Intervention Programme Sdn Bhd is an early intervention center focused on holistic development for children on the Autism Spectrum Disorder. The center prepares children for admission into mainstream learning institutions by promoting equality in educational opportunities for every child. RISE designs individualized education plans to support learning, bridge competency gaps, and build confidence through sustainable development. The program emphasizes learning through play for toddlers and structured learning environments with varied teaching techniques and materials for early intervention. Key objectives include preparing children for mainstream education and improving communication and gross motor development.

Role Description The Special Teacher is a full-time, on-site role based in Petaling Jaya. The Special Teacher will plan and deliver individualized education programs for children on the autism spectrum, using play-based and structured teaching approaches aligned with RISE’s objectives. Daily tasks include preparing lesson plans and teaching materials, conducting one-on-one and small group sessions, monitoring and documenting each child’s progress, and adjusting strategies based on developmental needs. The role involves collaborating closely with other team members, engaging with families or caregivers to share progress and strategies, and maintaining a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment. The Special Teacher will also contribute to ongoing improvement of teaching methods and participate in internal meetings, training, and planning activities.

Qualifications - Strong understanding of Disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder, including awareness of diverse learning and behavioral needs. - Demonstrated Teaching experience, ideally with young children and in structured or play-based learning environments. - Background in Special Education, with the ability to design and implement individualized education plans. - Effective Communication skills for working with children, colleagues, and families or caregivers. - Experience with Middle School or early childhood education settings is an advantage. - Relevant diploma or degree in Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Psychology, or a related field. - Patience, empathy, and a child-centered approach, with the ability to manage behaviors in a calm, supportive manner. - Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and adapt to different teaching techniques and materials. - Basic record-keeping and observation skills for monitoring progress and preparing reports.
