High School Science Teacher (C2 English Proficiency)

GenteLabora is exclusively headhunting a passionate and dynamic Science Teacher to join the middle and high school faculty ( secundaria y diversificado ) of a prestigious, top-tier bilingual institution in Guatemala City.

We are looking for an educator who excels at making science engaging, fostering curiosity through laboratory experiences, and inspiring critical thinking in fields such as Biology, Chemistry, or Physics.

Key Responsibilities: - Teach General Science, Biology, Chemistry, or Physics completely in English to secondary and high school students. - Develop engaging lesson plans, laboratory experiments, and activities aligned with high academic standards. - Foster a classroom environment based on inquiry, scientific thinking, and active participation.

Requirements (Must-Haves): - English speaker from the United States, Canada, or the United Kingdom preferred. - Flawless academic English fluency, equivalent to a C2 proficiency level (written and spoken). - International teaching experience is a plus. - Education: University degree in Secondary Education, Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a recognized international teaching certification (TEFL/TESOL/CELTA) with a strong scientific background. - Experience: 1–2 years of experience managing classrooms and teaching science at the secondary or high school level. - Location & Legal Status: Must currently reside in Guatemala (or have immediate independent relocation plans).

Job Conditions & Compensation: - Schedule: Monday to Friday, 07:00 AM - 03:20 PM. - Format: 100% On-site (Guatemala City). - Salary Range: Q7,500 - Q10,000+ per month (Approximately $935 - $1,250+ USD based on exchange rate), negotiable depending on your academic background and experience. - Contract: Stable local contract with 100% full Guatemalan legal benefits (prestaciones de ley).
